A six-bedroom luxury home in New Zealand that was built out of 12 repurposed shipping containers just hit the market, and the internet is gushing over images of the interior. The readymade two-story home was built by David Wade, who used industrial shipping containers to create the skeleton for the dwelling. Daily Mail reports that the containers cost just $5,000 apiece, making this a low-cost project for the home builder. Featuring a high-ceilinged floor plan, three bathrooms, an infinity pool, a six-car garage, and a mother-in-law cottage, the striking home doesn’t seem like a building made of readymade industrial shipping materials.
