Police in Long Beach, California, are asking for the public’s help in finding the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run. The crash, which killed an unidentified woman, happened Jan. 5 about 8:05 p.m. near Atlantic Avenue and Market Street. Police and the Long Beach Fire Department tried to help the pedestrian, but despite their efforts, she could not be saved. Police believe a speeding sedan heading southbound on Atlantic Avenue hit the woman, and after doing so, fled the scene. The red car sustained significant front-end damage, police said.
