The fall economic statement is expected to pass Wednesday after the Liberals and NDP voted to force the final few hours of debate required on the bill.
The motion to push C-8 to its conclusion passed about 12 hours after the two parties also voted to pass a Liberal motion making it easier to push debate on legislation along in general.
Kevin Lamoureux, the parliamentary secretary to the Liberal House leader, says there is frustration among some parties that legislation isn’t moving very quickly.
He insists the motion passed Monday will only be used when another party agrees with the Liberals that a piece of legislation needs to move faster and says the Conservatives are actively trying to slow down the legislative process.
