LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Los Angeles Leftists for Choice and Unity and a broad coalition of anti-mandate conservatives, liberals, libertarians, and others rallied outside LAPD headquarters on Nov. 30 to protest, demanding that LAPD Chief Michel Moore cease enforcement of the Los Angeles City Council’s vaccine mandate for city employees. Government employees of Los Angeles must be vaccinated by Dec. 18 or risk losing their jobs, following a unanimous city council vote on Oct. 26. Before the deadline, employees who have not been fully vaccinated are required to take PCR tests at their own expense. Moore supported the mandate, saying that he wants “a fully vaccinated workforce.” Moore fired five sworn department employees and one civilian employee on Nov. 23 for refusing to comply with the vaccine mandate.
