Athletes from all over the world competed in the 38th annual Los Angeles Marathon March 19, with more than 20,000 participants undeterred by a light drizzle.
Jemel Yimer, of Ethiopia, came in first for men at 2 hours, 13 minutes.
“Everything is good. Thank you race organizers. Everything is good and I love America,” he said after finishing the race.

Stacy Ndiwa, from Kenya, emerged as the victor in the women’s category finishing in 2 hours, 31 minutes.
The 26.2-mile course began at Dodger Stadium and went through various neighborhoods including downtown, Echo Park, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Century City, Westwood, and Brentwood, looping back around through Westwood before finishing in Century City….
