U.S. Rep. Karen Bass widened her lead over businessman Rick Caruso in the seesaw race for Los Angeles’ mayor, according to the latest results from the Los Angeles County Registrar as of 5 p.m., Nov. 14.
Bass gained 52.15 percent of the vote, while Caruso held 47.85 percent. The gap expanded to about 29,000 votes, from 9,000 votes Nov. 12. Caruso initially held a narrow lead over Bass after election night.
There are still hundreds of thousands of uncounted ballots. The next election update will be Nov. 15.
Los Angeles voters are waiting to see who their next mayor will be to replace termed-out Eric Garcetti, who took office in 2013.
