A judge ordered New York City Mayor Eric Adams to temporarily stop sending illegal immigrants to Orange County until she can hear his case in court at a later date, according to a May 16 court filing.
Orange County Supreme Court Judge Sandra Sciortino issued the temporary restraining order.
“New York City should not be establishing a homeless shelter outside of its borders in Orange County,” Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus said in a May 16 press release. “The city is a self-proclaimed sanctuary city; Orange County is not.
“We should not have to bear the burden of the immigration crisis that the Federal government and Mayor Adams created, and I will continue to fight for Orange County’s residents in regard to this important manner,” he said….
