Bravo to the Orange County Board of Supervisors for exercising some backbone by limiting the amount of flags that can be flown on county properties. This is how it ought to be in every American city, county, and state. The Pride flag will not be raised on these properties but can be flown on private property.
The American flag, county flag, POW/MIA banner, and state flag will be flown at public venues. Most Americans can identify with these familiar flags as they represent what unites us.
By contrast, the rainbow flag is highly divisive, because it has received special favors in some jurisdictions across the country. LGBT representatives constantly state that all they seek is equal rights and safe acceptance, not extra rights. However, actions by the pride community often run counter to this claim….
