An Indiana State freshman defensive back died in a weekend automobile accident.
The Lakota East High School football program identified the deceased as alumnus Caleb VanHooser.
“It is with heavy heart that we mourn the loss of Caleb VanHooser, former Hawk great, and Indiana State football player who was called home to Heaven early this morning,” the school posted Sunday on Twitter. “We will never forget his contributions to our program. RIP#2. We love you.”
Indiana State released a statement confirming that three people died in a single-vehicle crash.
Police said that five people were in the vehicle and all are believed to be ISU students, including several football players….
