A high-speed police chase was prompted last week when a human smuggler from Texas carrying five illegal aliens in his vehicle refused to pull over during a routine traffic stop, officials say.
The smuggler, identified as Rogelio Favela Olguin, was driving a silver Chevy Malibu on U.S. 277 in Kinney County on Jan. 20 when the incident occurred, authorities said in a video of the incident.
According to Fox News, Olguin was told to pull over by a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper for a traffic violation but declined to do so and a high-speed chase ensued.
The smuggler reached speeds of up to 110 mph at times, while the illegal aliens, including a 4-year-old child, were seated inside the car, Texas DPS said….
