As Chris Rock said, “That was the greatest night in the history of television,” when actor Will Smith slapped him in the face on live TV at the Oscars for making a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. She was clearly upset when Rock referred to her as “G.I. Jane” for her bald look due to her struggles with alopecia, a type of hair loss. So even though Will Smith originally had laughed at Chris’s joke, maybe her reaction sparked his anger. Regardless, the incident, and the Academy Awards show in general, highlighted some known hypocrisies in the Hollywood community.
