Starting a new job, joining a new club, or even using the condo pool for the first time are all opportunities to make new friends. We’ve got a few suggestions to make doing so easier. Be Brave At any social or work-related gathering, there will be times when you don’t know anyone or when you see someone standing or sitting by themselves. Etiquette expert Myka Meier suggests that you be the brave one who starts a conversation. This allows the other person to relax so the conversation can flow. It won’t work for everyone, but give it your best effort by smiling as you introduce yourself, and remember to maintain eye contact as you talk.
