A group of Republican lawmakers has renewed efforts to prevent Democratic lawmakers from expanding the Supreme Court after President Joe Biden issued an executive order to create a commission to study possible reforms to the nation’s top court. Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.), who is leading the effort, proposed a constitutional amendment on Tuesday that would prevent court-packing by limiting the number of Supreme Court justices to nine.
