Chinese state media have accused the U.S. government of being “hysterical,” “laughably juvenile,” and “losing its calm” after U.S. fighter jets shot down four objects, including a Chinese spy balloon, this month.
Columns in China Daily, People’s Daily, and Global Times mocked the United States, opining that Washington made a “strong case that the F-22 is invincible when its enemies are balloons” and that “it looks pretty damn tough in the face of balloons.”
This mockery is darkly ironic, given that the leadership in China is itself guilty of a most extreme case of hysterical overreaction when it comes to prisoners of conscience. Over the past 23 years, the communist leadership in Beijing has committed forced organ harvesting of peaceful, defenseless Falun Gong practitioners in China….
