By Karen Kucher From The San Diego Union-Tribune A Border Patrol agent riding an all-terrain vehicle near the U.S.-Mexico border was injured early Tuesday when the ATV collided with a SUV driven by another agent, officials said. The collision was reported around 7 a.m. as agents were working in an area known as Spooner’s Mesa, south of Hollister Street and Monument Road on federal property near the U.S.-Mexico border, Border Patrol and San Diego police officials said. The agent driving the Chevrolet Tahoe called for emergency medical assistance via dispatch after the two vehicles collided, according to a statement from the Border Patrol. Medical help arrived around 7:20 a.m. and the agent was taken to a hospital. The agent suffered injuries in the crash that were not considered life threatening, the Border Patrol said.
