As John Durham’s prosecution of former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann begins, an interesting legal angle from Durham’s team has developed.
At the start of opening arguments, Durham’s team presented what they called “a look, a leap, and a lie” theory of the case. According to Durham, Sussmann and his team of Clinton operatives first “looked” at the Trump-Russia data, then Sussmann “leaped” by trying to get friendly media outlets such as the New York Times and Slate Magazine to publish the Alfa Bank allegations. When that failed, Sussmann “lied” by taking the fabricated Alfa Bank data directly to the FBI himself….
