The FDA recently made an official request to a federal judge, asking whether it can take 55 years to fully release all of the documents pertaining to the approval of the Pfizer vaccine—meaning that if this request is approved, we won’t be able to see all of the documents until 2076. As this is taking place, the U.S. government has just approved a $5 billion purchase of Pfizer’s new COVID-19 pills. However, that hinges on one question: whether these pills actually get emergency approval from the FDA.
