ExxonMobil announced Tuesday that it will be pulling the plug on oil and gas operations in Russia and will not be making any new investments in the country amid the crisis in Ukraine. In a statement, the Texas-headquartered company said it has made the decision to stop operations as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people. “ExxonMobil supports the people of Ukraine as they seek to defend their freedom and determine their own future as a nation. We deplore Russia’s military action that violates the territorial integrity of Ukraine and endangers its people,” the company said. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives and support the strong international response.
