Officials have warned of the health implications posed by the concerning air quality in Chicago after the U.S. state experienced the worst air quality in the world on June 27, triggered by the ongoing Canadian wildfires.
The Air Quality Index in Chicago reached 195 on Tuesday, according to Swiss air technology company IQAir.
Such a reading is considered unhealthy and could lead to some adverse health effects, particularly among sensitive groups, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
