A man involved in a road rage shooting in Escondido, California, died Friday night after being shot by the police during a chase, authorities say. The suspect, a 38-year-old male Escondido resident, fired a handgun from his vehicle into another vehicle occupied by a 20-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old passenger on Sept. 17 around 5 p.m., according to the Escondido Police Department. The driver suffered a mild gunshot wound and sought medical care at Palomar Medical Center. He was later discharged from the hospital. At around 6:10 pm, police found the suspect’s vehicle in the area of Washington Ave and Citrus Ave. The suspect fled the police in his vehicle, and a chase ensued.
