Officials have completed their examination of documents that were taken during a raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and that possible “attorney-client privileged information” was seized by FBI agents, said the Department of Justice in a Monday filing.
The Department of Justice filed a response on Monday morning in response to a motion filed by Trump to request the appointment of a special master to review the seized documents.
Prosecutors said the Justice Department’s “privilege review team” was tasked with reviewing the documents, said prosecutors in the legal brief on Monday morning (pdf), coming in response to a weekend ruling by U.S. District Judge Aileen M. Cannon to schedule hearing on whether a special master is needed….
