A Department of Justice (DOJ) update that was published on Dec. 23 shows that taxpayers spent about $2 million on the second half of the 2022 fiscal year for special counsel John Durham’s probe into the origins of the Trump–Russia collusion narrative.
Published two days before Christmas, the DOJ said that Durham’s office spent about $2 million from April 1 to Sept. 30 of this year. Durham’s team has been quiet in recent weeks, coming after his team was unable to secure a conviction of Russia analyst Igor Danchenko for allegedly lying to the FBI.
“The review identified no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies in the design or operation of SCO controls,” the DOJ said. SCO refers to the Special Counsel’s Office of John Durham….
