Commentary China Tribunal—an independent people’s tribunal based in London—released its final judgment (pdf) in 2020, concluding that “forced organ harvesting has been committed for years throughout China on a significant scale and that Falun Gong practitioners have been one—and probably the main—source of organ supply.” This conclusion was made “unanimously” by the tribunal members after over one year of hearings and an investigation. Several years before the tribunal’s investigation—unknown to many people—a prisoner of conscience in China’s southeastern Jiangxi Province was the victim of forced organ harvesting. Zhong Haiyuan, a teacher and later a radio announcer, was imprisoned for supporting and defending Li Jiulian, who was sentenced to imprisonment for her criticism of the regime and its former vice-chairman, Lin Biao.
