SANTA ANA, Calif.—An 18-year-old convicted killer described by authorities as “dangerous and violent” was taken back into custody Sunday after freeing himself of his electronic monitoring device and escaping from a halfway house in Santa Ana.
Ike Nicholas Souzer was arrested Sunday by the Orange County District Attorney’s AB 109 Task Force, OC District Attorney Todd Spitzer announced Sunday.
Souzer was convicted of voluntary manslaughter for stabbing his mother to death in 2017, when he was 13 years old, by Orange County Superior Court Judge Douglas J. Hatchimonji, and while in custody, he was convicted last December of attacking three correctional officers, according to prosecutors.
