There might be a policy shift in Central and Eastern Europe regarding China and Taiwan in the past few years. While China lost influence in the region, Taiwan expanded ties with countries such as Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
What is behind China’s declining role in Central and Eastern Europe? What factors have shaped Taiwan’s relationships with regional states? How can Taiwan strengthen its position in the region?
