Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the June 20 assault of a construction worker to come forward, after the man was attacked in Garden Grove by a group of men, resulting in skull fractures and severe brain injuries.
Carlos Ayala, 54, was beaten while working a job with co-workers paving the parking lot of a shopping center near Westminster Avenue and Brookhurst Street just before 1 a.m. after he asked the men who were exiting a karaoke lounge not to step on the fresh asphalt, police said.
“While my father and his coworkers were both beaten, unfortunately my dad suffered the most injuries … He was found unconscious and couldn’t speak or walk due to the severity of his injuries,” the man’s daughter, Sara Ayala, said on a GoFundMe page created to support the family after the incident….
