Congress passed a one-day extension to government funding on Sunday night to prevent a partial government shutdown as lawmakers push through the final steps to pass a COVID-19 aid bill on Monday. Senate passed the Stopgap funding bill hours after the House announced that it had passed the measure to temporarily extend funding. It is expected to go to President Donald Trump’s desk for signature on Sunday night. Current government funding expires at midnight.
