With the fall of the Soviet Union in the 1990s, people rejoiced that the threat of communism was no more. But the threat of communism is still very much alive in countries like Cuba and China, where totalitarian regimes rule over the population through fear and violence. At the same time, communist ideas have infiltrated the West under the guise of socialism, liberalism, or progressivism. Even the fall of the Soviet Union and the supposed demise of communism were greatly exaggerated. Internally, the Soviets planned their “collapse” to get America to disarm and turn a blind eye to their attempts to subvert and destabilize America from within.
