A coalition of climate activists is threatening to disrupt the upcoming Congressional Baseball Game in an effort to pressure Democrats in Congress to pass “sweeping climate legislation.”
The event, scheduled for July 28 at Nationals Park in Washington, continues a century-old bipartisan tradition in which Democrat and Republican members of Congress play a friendly baseball game to raise money for charity.
The activists, however, vowed to not allow the game to happen, accusing the Democrat players of not doing enough to address climate change.
“Democratic leaders are failing us,” declared the group under the banner of “Now or Never,” saying that the lawmakers “mingle with billionaires and pretend everything is fine” while “ice melts” and “seas rise.”…
