Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo filed a demand for arbitration on Wednesday against Turner Services and CNN for $125 million, claiming the network wrongfully terminated his employment. Cuomo was fired in December 2021 after the network and New York’s Attorney General’s office said he played an active role in giving advice to his brother, then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, after several women accused him of sexual harassment. “Cuomo has had his journalistic integrity unjustifiably smeared, making it difficult if not impossible for Cuomo to find similar work in the future and damaging him in amounts exceeding $125 million,” the filing (pdf) said. That includes, the suit continues, “not only the remaining salary owed under the Agreement, but future wages lost as a result of CNN’s efforts to destroy his reputation in violation of the Agreement.
