The international arm of the Chinese regime’s state broadcaster ordered some of its contracted American workers to distance themselves from persecuted faith group Falun Gong, an internal document supplied to The Epoch Times shows. The Washington bureau of CGTN, a state-run English language television network, earlier this year instructed several contract workers to pledge to maintain their “political purity,” according to an employee conduct agreement. That means that they “must not get involved in illegal and reactionary organizations, and heretical religion such as ‘Falun Gong,’” the document read. The spiritual practice Falun Gong features three core tenets of truthfulness, compassion, and forbearance, along with a set of meditative exercises.
