Commentary LeBron James is a basketball star. He also happens to be a movie star. Last year, he played the lead role in “Space Jam: A New Legacy,” an unmitigated flop that was, as authors at The Hollywood Reporter wrote, “tailored to appeal above all else to the mighty Chinese market.” After all, they noted, James is “a huge commodity in the basketball-obsessed country, where his signature Nike sneakers are made.” Sadly, his movie never made it past the Chinese censors. Why? In one word: Nike.
