The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Oct. 12 enabled younger children to receive updated COVID-19 boosters.
The CDC’s move came hours after theĀ U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted emergency authorization to Moderna and Pfizer for their updated COVID-19 boosters forĀ children between the ages of 5 and 11.
Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the CDC’s director, did not appear to recommend the updated boosters, but her signature on a memorandum means children in the age group can start receiving the shots.
Children as young as 6 can now receive the Moderna booster, and children as young as 5 can now receive the Pfizer booster….
