A revised version of California’s proposed new mathematics framework, released this week, omits some controversial parts from the first draft but still pushes for equity in mathematics, critics say, which includes teaching political activism to children. The first draft of the new math framework received widespread pushback from concerned parents and educators during the 60-day public comment period that ended last May. A new public comment period for the revised draft began March 14 and will continue until May 16.
