The California senate judiciary committee has voted in favor of controversial proposed legislation that opponents involved in the national debate over gender ideology have called “child emancipation” and “state sanctioned kidnapping.”
State Sen. Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) and Assemblywoman Wendy Carillo (D-Los Angeles), the authors of Assembly Bill 665, claim the criticisms of the bill are misinformation.
The committee on June 20 voted 9-2, with Sen. Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) and Sen. Roger Niello (R-Fair Oaks) opposed, to pass the bill, which experts say would allow children as young as 12 years old get mental health counseling, place themselves in a group home—or both—without parental consent….
