LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.—A brush fire broke out in Laguna Beach early morning on Feb. 10 causing residents in communities with multimillion-dollar homes to evacuate. The fire was reported at around 4:10 a.m. and spread quickly throughout the hillside area near Pacific Coast Highway. The fire is about 7 to 10 acres with the containment rate being unknown as of 7:30 a.m. Thursday. “We no longer have a fire season, we have a fire year,” Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) Chief Brian Fennessy said at a briefing. “It’s February 10, it’s supposed to be the middle of winter.” An “immediate evacuation order” was issued for Irvine Cove and Emerald Bay residents at 6:30 a.m. by the City of Laguna Beach.
