A young boy in Winnipeg suffered multiple injuries when police say he was mauled by a coyote on Saturday evening.
The Winnipeg Police Service says it responded to Sunny Morning Road in the city’s northeast at around 6:50 p.m. for a call about a child being bitten by a coyote.
They learned a 15-year-old girl and her nine-year-old brother were walking in the Popko Crescent and Knowles Avenue area when they noticed the animal.
Police say the coyote began running towards them as they fled, and the boy was mauled.
An area resident chased the coyote away and the boy was taken to hospital in stable condition….
