LOS ANGELES—A gunman who fatally shot a 17-year-old boy during a failed robbery attempt in the Koreatown area remained at large April 12.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the teen was sitting in the passenger seat of a car parked on 7th Street near Berendo Street at around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when a man approached in what is believed to have been a robbery attempt.
The driver began to pull away, prompting the suspect to open fire, striking his passenger, the police department reported.
Police said the driver attempted to drive to a hospital but spotted LAPD officers at Olympic Boulevard and Burlington Avenue in the Westlake area, and stopped for assistance….
