LOS ANGELES—President Joe Biden declared his top economic priority was “fighting inflation” June 10 and blamed Russia’s President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine for causing the higher prices as he stood in front of semi-trucks clearing cargo containers at the Port of Los Angeles.
“I understand Americans are anxious and they’re anxious for good reason,” Biden said. “I understand inflation is a real challenge to American families. Today’s inflation report confirms what Americans already know—Putin’s price hike is hitting America hard.”
