U.S. President Joe Biden and other world leaders reacted on Sept. 8 to the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away at age 96.
Biden and First Lady Jill Biden said that the queen “defined an era” and served as “a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons, including many who have never known their country without her.”
“Queen Elizabeth II was a stateswoman of unmatched dignity and constancy who deepened the bedrock Alliance between the United Kingdom and the United States. She helped make our relationship special,” the Bidens, who first met the queen in 1982, said in a joint statement….
