President Joe Biden said he’s narrowed down his list of candidates to fill a vacant Supreme Court seat. With the announcement of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer’s retirement on Jan. 27, Biden said that he would fulfill a campaign promise by nominating the first-ever black woman to the high court and would do so by the end of February. In an interview Thursday with NBC’s Lester Holt, Biden revealed that the list of candidates being considered is down to “about four.” “I’ve taken about four people and done the deep dive on them, meaning the thorough background checks and see if there’s anything in the background that would make them not qualified,” said Biden in the interview Feb. 10.
