Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has outlined Australia’s roadmap out of CCP virus lockdowns and restrictions after Friday’s national cabinet meeting. Morrison said state and territory leaders have affirmed a four-phase plan to transition Australia’s national COVID-19 response from its current pre-vaccination settings—which focus on the suppression of community transmission—to post-vaccination settings that focus on the prevention of serious illness, hospitalisation, fatality, and the public health management of other infectious diseases. “We agreed in principle that that plan consists of the following phases, each triggered by the achievement of a vaccination threshold expressed as a percentage of the eligible population, that is 16+, based on the scientific modelling conducted for the COVID-19 Risk Analysis COVID-19 Task Force,” Morrison told reporters on July 2.
