An appeals court in Manhattan ruled Tuesday to uphold a bribery conviction for Patrick Ho, a Chinese businessman and think tank head with links to Hunter Biden, son of former vice president Joe Biden. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan found Ho was properly convicted by a federal jury in December 2018 of paying bribes to the presidents of Chad and Uganda in a United Nations-linked conspiracy, according to a court filing (pdf). Ho was a top lieutenant of Ye Jianming, a Chinese oil tycoon whose company, CEFC China Energy Company Limited (CEFC), sought oil drilling rights in Chad and Uganda.
