Twenty-three attorneys general across the United States filed an amicus brief (pdf) supporting a petition made by Falun Gong practitioners in a high-profile religious freedom case before the Supreme Court.

The AGs called for the highest court to revert a lower court decision that was “wrong on an issue of national importance that stands at the center of our constitutional tradition,” according to a press release from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office on Wednesday.
The lawsuit was filed in 2015 by 13 residents of New York’s Flushing, a majority-Chinese neighborhood, against the Chinese Anti-Cult World Alliance (CACWA) in a bid to stop what they described as a six-year-long campaign that targeted them with beatings, harassment, and death threats in their community….
