The Alberta RCMP in Strathcona County has confirmed that an on-duty officer died in an automobile crash overnight, while en route to a call to assist other officers with a noise complaint.
At a news conference on April 10, the RCMP said Constable Harvinder Singh Dhami, known by his colleagues as Harvey, collided with a large concrete barrier at approximately 2 a.m. local time that day, east of Edmonton and the North Saskatchewan River.
RCMP Deputy Commissioner Curtis Zablocki said, “Despite efforts of emergency personnel and civilians on scene, Harvey succumbed to his injuries.”
The 32-year-old officer had been posted to Strathcona RCMP since he graduated from the RCMP training program in 2019. He leaves behind his wife, mother, sister, and brother….
