Police have arrested a suspect considered armed and dangerous after issuing a shelter-in-place warning to Ponoka-area residents during the search for the man.
Ponoka RCMP issued a warning on the evening of May 7, at approximately 9:29 p.m. local time, saying only they were at a rural location in Alberta, near Township Road 422 and Range Road 245a, looking for an armed suspect. Ponoka is about one hour south of Edmonton.
Residents were told to stay inside, secure their doors and windows, and not pick up anyone on the road. RCMP also asked people not to post photos of law enforcement members on social media during the search, according to Canada Police Report….
