Three hundred million jobs globally could be impacted by artificial intelligence (AI), according to a recent Goldman Sachs study.
The impact would be felt in different ways: “Although the impact of AI on the labor market is likely to be significant, most jobs and industries are only partially exposed to automation and are thus more likely to be complemented rather than substituted by AI,” the report said.
At greatest risk of becoming replaced by AI are administrative and legal professions.
The report predicts 7 percent of current U.S. employment being substituted by AI, 63 percent being complemented, and 30 percent being unaffected.
It also says AI could lead to a productivity boom and that widespread AI adoption could eventually drive a 7 percent increase in annual global GDP over a 10-year period….
