The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences condemned actor Will Smith the day after the actor slapped presenter Chris Rock onstage. The organization held an emergency meeting on March 28, saying they would start a formal review of the incident. “The Academy condemns the actions of Mr. Smith at last night’s show. We have officially started a formal review around the incident and will explore further action and consequences in accordance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct and California law,” the Academy said in a statement to media.
