Rep. Karen Bass (D-Calif.) received two new endorsements this week in her bid to become Los Angeles’s new mayor. She will go head-to-head with real estate businessman Rick Caruso in the November General Election.
Late Monday evening, the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor—the largest labor union in LA—endorsed Bass. The union has more than 800,000 members.
Bass already has heavy support from labor unions nationwide, including the American Federation of Teachers, National Union of Healthcare Workers, United Teachers Los Angeles, California Nurses Association, among others.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) endorsed Bass on Tuesday.
“Karen Bass has fought her entire life for social and economic justice for the people of Los Angeles,” Warren said in a statement. “Karen Bass has always fought for reproductive freedom, always fought for good-paying jobs for working families, and always fought to protect our planet. We have to move Los Angeles forward, and we’ve already seen what kind of damage an out-of-touch billionaire can do.”
