Balkan countries are sweltering under a heat wave, with temperatures across the region reaching above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit) for the fourth day in a row Wednesday.
The extended wave is causing additional distress to chronic patients, prompting authorities to advise staying indoors and keeping hydrated during the hottest hours of the day.
A doctor in Sarajevo said they had been seeing more patients suffering from chronic heart and lung diseases who seek help due to the heat.
Throughout the region, people are trying to cool themselves by fountains and take shelter in the shade of local bars and restaurants.
